Handling heavy small cable reels is part of many installers’ daily work. When the same tasks are repeated time and time again, even small ergonomic improvements can make a difference. It is not just about what feels easier in the moment, but also about how the body is exposed to strain throughout the working day and over an entire career.

Small tasks can have a long-term impact

Lifting, carrying and other forms of manual cable reel handling can put strain on the lower back, shoulders and upper limbs in particular. Repeated physical strain can also contribute to the gradual development of musculoskeletal disorders.

That is why ergonomics should also be considered in everyday tasks that may seem quick and routine. When a heavy small cable reel needs to be moved several times around a worksite, two things matter: how securely you can grip the reel and how easily you can move it.

Better grip when carrying with handles

Another option is to roll the reel. When the Mobiway MOB handles are attached with their legs folded in, the reel can rotate smoothly while fitted with the handles. This means you do not always have to carry the small reel from one place to another.
