Cables at the core of the energy transition

In the coming decades, the world will become increasingly electrified and cables will be a key part of the electrical energy revolution. Reka is a pioneer of the energy transition and we play an important role in making electrification responsible and sustainable.

Business plan based on E3 management model

Nexans’ business plan is based on the so-called E3 management model comprising three aspects: Environment, Economy, Engagement.

Environment = Ecological responsibility

Engagement = Social responsibility

Economy = Financial responsibility

We believe that, together with our customers, suppliers, partners and society, we can make the right choices and move in the right direction. Electrifying the planet is the key to more sustainable and balanced growth that benefits humanity as a whole. Electrify the future with us!

Environment

As part of Nexans Group, Reka Cables is committed to Net Zero emissions by 2050 in accordance with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) (Scope 1–3). Scope 1 and 2 relate to our own operations and Scope 3 to the entire supply chain.

A third-party assessment by Ecovadis ensures that our work is focused on the right themes.

Engagement

A motivated, healthy, and thriving workforce is crucial to our business. We see to the well-being of our personnel by advancing the know-how of our employees, as well as investing in workplace health, safety, and well-being.

Economy

Profitable business is a vital part of what we do, helping us to achieve our sustainability goals. We are driven by continuous development and improvement. Our combustion testing laboratory acts as a basis for our product development and as part of production quality assurance.

Towards an electric future

The impact of the use of fossil fuels – oil, natural gas and coal– on global warming is obvious. Climate change is creating pressure to switch to renewable forms of energy in electricity production. Of these, wind and solar power are the most important energy sources of the future.

The demand for electricity is expected to increase in the future, and Reka’s task is to manufacture and supply cables for the circular economy and for energy production that is renewable and reduces CO2 emissions.

We are at the heart of the electric energy transition; our cables are essential for all types of electricity transmission, meeting the needs of large cities while also promoting the development of remote villages.

Corporate & Social Responsibility, CSR

In our corporate responsibility efforts, we consider the social and environmental aspects of our business. We work hard to achieve a balance between striving for financial success and promoting social and environmental sustainability.
