Electrical cable types

Reka Cables' product range consists of installation cables, control and instrumentation cables, fire-resistant cables, power cables as well as medium- and high-voltage cables.

Installation cables

The PVC materials used in installation cables have a long service life and excellent installation properties. They do not spread fires. Their lead-free PVC compounds are safe in normal operating conditions. Thanks to their operating properties and balanced installation, these high-quality cables are excellent in regular use.

Installation cables are also available without halogen. The materials of halogen-free cables are easy to recycle, and they do not contain any PVC. Installation cables generate only a small amount of smoke, and they do not spread fires individually or in bundles.

Control and instrumentation cables

Control cables of Reka Cables are suitable for fixed installation indoors and outdoors. They are high-quality cables suitable for regular use, containing lead-free PVC compounds.

Control cables are also available without halogen. Halogen-free control cables generate only a small amount of smoke in case of a fire, and they do not spread fires when used in bundles.

Halogen-free instrumentation cables are suitable for fixed installation indoors and outdoors. Instrumentation cables are used for data transfer purposes in automation, instrumentation and process control systems, and in signal and surveillance systems.

We manufacture all of our instrumentation cables as halogen-free versions. The materials used in halogen-free instrumentation cables are easy to recycle, and do not contain any PVC. These cables generate only a small amount of smoke, and they do not spread fires individually or in bundles.

Fire-resistant cables

Fire-resistant cables are suitable for applications where power supply needs to be secured, also during a fire. They are halogen-free, and do not contain any PVC or spread fires when used in a bundle. Their materials are easy to recycle.

Fire-resistant Flamerex cables are particularly intended for installation where it is required that alarm, control, signal and energy supply systems operate in case of a fire.

Reka Cables offers fire-resistant installation cables, signal cables, power and EMC power cables. All accessories used in the installation must also be fire-resistant.

Our fire-resistant Flamerex cables are halogen-free and generate only some amount of smoke during fire.

Power cables

The PVC materials used in aluminium and copper power cables have excellent installation properties and long service life. Lead-free PVC compounds of power cables are safe in normal operating conditions. They are suitable for fixed installations indoors and outdoors.

Ploughable aluminium power cables can be installed directly into the ground and are suitable for cable ploughing.

Aluminium and copper power cables are also available as halogen-free versions. The copper EMC cable is also available as a fire-resistant version.

Medium- and high-voltage cables

High-voltage cables are made at the maximum voltage of 170 kV, whereas medium-voltage cables are manufactured for the voltage level of 12–30 kV. They are manufactured of aluminium and copper.

Dryrex medium-voltage cables are plastic cables insulated using cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE), representing first-class insulation technology. The same technology is used in the manufacture of high-voltage cables.

Medium- and high-voltage cables are extremely reliable and they can also be manufactured of special plastics when, having a fire rating, they can also be installed indoors and in tunnels.

In Finland, these cables are mainly used to build weather-resistant networks and to improve the reliability of networks.
