Reka’s aluminium cables are ensuring the energy transfer in the Purtse wind park in Estonia

Construction of the Purtse wind park started in March 2022. Park is part of the Estonia’s first wind-solar hybrid farm. The wind park, with five wind turbines, and the solar farm, with nearly 50,000 panels, started generating green electricity in May 2023.

Developer of the project was Enefit Green AS and the wind park was constructed by YIT Eesti AS. Reka’s TSLF 36 kV aluminium cables are ensuring the energy transfer in the Purtse wind park. “Co-operation with Reka has been easy starting from bidding process and we got very good technical support during the project” says Andres Teppo, YIT Eesti’s Project Manager for electrical works. Teppo has been pleased with Reka’s overall service and he warmly recommends Reka as a cable supplier for similar projects.

The hybrid farm is projected to produce a total of 78 gigawatt-hours. The wind farm has a capacity of 21 megawatts, the solar farm 32 megawatts. The output of Purtse park is transmitted via the transmission line between Purtse and Püssi to the Püssi substation and from there to the transmission grid.
