Planet Week as part of our goal-oriented environmental efforts

During Week 21, we celebrated the Group-wide Planet Week, a themed week dedicated to environmental responsibility. Throughout the week, Reka employees carried out concrete environmental actions such as:

• Indoor and outdoor clean-up activities

• Monitoring and reducing water consumption

• Improving recycling practices

• Supporting nature and pollinators: installing insect hotels, planting meadows, and repairing sheep fences

• Local discussions and idea-sharing for the benefit of the environment

 

Towards Net Zero Emissions

Nexans’ business plan is based on the E3 model, which incorporates not only social (Engagement) and economic (Economic) responsibility but also environmental (Environment) responsibility.

As part of the Nexans Group, Reka Kaapeli is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050 in line with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), covering Scope 1–3. Scope 1 and 2 relate to our own operations, while Scope 3 covers the entire value chain.

At the Group level, the level of sustainability is assessed annually by an independent organization, Ecovadis, whose evaluation ensures we are doing the right things for the right reasons.
