Safer installations for the future

Reka offers a new future-proof installation cable. Our customers expect that their cable selection works in all contexts, from simple to advanced installations. Large temperature variations, UV-radiation and even fire situations must be taken into consideration when developing installation cable for the future. 

Reka’s new LiteRex installation cable family is UV-protected. It is suitable for all installations both indoors and outdoors, as neither the cable’s jacket nor conductor insulation needs to be separately protected from UV-light. 

Easier connection of luminaires without protective sleeves

The core insulations in the LiteRex product family are UV-protected, which means faster installation as there are no need for separate protection sleeves. The omission of this extra step in the installation reduces the risk of making incorrect connections. 

Halogen free cable

Halogen free material is the new standard for safer environments. All plastics in LiteRex cables are halogen-free.

In case of fire, a halogen-free cable releases significantly less toxic and corrosive fumes, and the smoke emission is minimal, which facilitates better visibility during evacuation.

In contrast to halogen-free materials, traditional PVC-material develops a black, dense smoke that significantly reduces visibility and is both irritating and toxic to inhale, which makes evacuation more difficult.

PVC-smoke is highly toxic with hydrochloric acid content and induces human suffocation. Corrosive fumes can cause major damage to buildings, machinery, electronics, computers and other equipment. As a consequence, large reconstruction or replacements of equipment may be needed after a fire.

The halogen free design of the LiteRex cables makes them suitable for all types of installations: for example housing, day care centers, hospitals, offices, public buildings, tunnels and underground structures.

LiteRex meets the latest CPR-requirements

NEW! LiteRex has now been tested and classified to CPR-classes Cca-s1,d1,a1 and Dca-s2, d2, a2 which means there is a suitable option for most application areas.

EQQ LiteRex is approved in class Dca. It is self-extinguishing and has minimal smoke production.

HHJ LiteRex C is approved in class Cca. It has all the good qualities of the older EQQ LiteRex but as a Cca-class cable it offers added fire safety and can be installed in more demanding installations.

In some cases, such as in case of evacuation spaces, the project should be planned making sure that the correct LiteRex cable is chosen so it meets local installation rules.

A more effective everyday means a lot of savings in both time and money. Installation cable is one of the most commonly used electrical equipment. It should be as professional as the fitter himself - simple and good to work with. Even the most demanding installations are made efficiently and with a final result of the highest quality.

The LiteRex cable design is made with the best installation experience in mind. Efficiency and ergonomics are at least as important factors as cable costs for ensuring continuous productivity and a better everyday - even in the future.

Extremely easy to peel

The oversheath and the core insulation of LiteRex cables are based on design choices and materials that are optimized for better scalability. In addition, the interaction between the sheathand the core insulationsis taken into account so that the sheath can be pulled off with less force and inconvenience. 

Designed for Nordic conditions

LiteRex can be installed in Nordic conditions, down to -15°C which in combination with UV-secured materials enables installations in most areas and environments.

Stylish design

The color of the LiteRex cable is matt white. The profile is thin and the exibility has been optimized so that the cable stays in shape. Thus, LiteRex is the right choice, easily installed and provides a visually appealing surface installation.

Environmentally friendly choices

In future installations, the materials are completely recyclable with minimal environmental impact. LiteRex is manufactured using thermoplastics which enables their recycling to new products.

Less harmful raw materials

The LiteRex cable is designed for less environmental impact. The cable industry uses large amounts of plastics and metals and their environmental impact should be minimized in both short and long term. Reka Cables has a certfied environmental management system according to ISO14001. All products also meet the applicable EU requirements, such as the RoHS Directive, which limits the use of certain heavy metals and flame retardants.

Completely recyclable materials

LiteRex is made of thermoplastics, which means that they are completely recyclable. Although Reka Cables strives to minimize production residue, a lot of residual materials are still formed in the production process. These materials are all completely recycled by our recycling agencies. They shred the plastic material into a pulp that is reused into new plastics. Even the packaging material is completely recyclable in the same way. The LiteRex cables can also be recycled by shredding the cable scrap, separating metals for their further melting and processing plastics into a thermoplastic pulp for reuse in new industry needs.
