The manufacturing of medium and high voltage cables began in 1999. The first medium voltage cable line at Riihimäki was set up in Paloheimo’s former glass wool factory. A new, modern packaging centre with automatic packing machines and automated guided vehicles was built in Keuruu.
In 2006, a new insulation line was started up at the Riihimäki plant, and the first construction phase of a new factory was completed the next year. As the project was completed in 2008, the total area of new industrial space in Riihimäki reached 10,000 m2.
Production space was also bought in Podolsk, Russia, where the production of medium-voltage cable started in 2007. In 2013, Reka Cables sold its cable manufacturing companies in Russia.
In 2011, Reka Cables celebrated its 50 years in operation.
