In cooperation with Norwegian network construction company Linka AS, Reka Cables provided cabling for onshore wind parks of Geitfjellet, Harbaksfjellet and Kvenndalsfjellet in Norway. Reka’s 36 kV medium-voltage cable deliveries during 2019 will ensure an energy transfer totalling 100 wind turbines.
Construction of wind farms began in 2018 and Reka delivered the first batch of medium voltage cables in April 2019. "Cooperation with Reka Cables has been easy from the start, thanks to the local sales team. The reliability of the deliveries has been excellent and Reka's user-friendly products enable efficient work even in demanding conditions," says Knut Arne Aasan, Managing Director of Linka AS. The final phase of the project began in September 2019 when Reka delivered the final batch of cables to the Geitfjellet wind farm. Construction of the wind farm will continue throughout the winter despite the challenging weather conditions and all the parks will be completed during 2020.

Reka has supplied a total of 240 drums, with 209 kilometres of DryRex WIND medium voltage cables to the Geitfjellet, Harbaksfjellet and Kvenndalsfjellet wind farms. These three wind farms generate a total of 1396 GWh of renewable energy and have a total capacity of 420 MW.
Geitfjellet, Harbaksfjellet and Kvenndalsfjellet wind parks are part of a larger wind park project that includes six wind parks in a coastal area with some of the best conditions for wind power generation in Europe (Fosen Peninsula, Hitra and Snillfjord). Once all of the wind parks are completed, the combined annual electricity production will be 3.6 TWh, which corresponds to the annual electricity demand for approximately 180,000 Norwegian households. When combined, these six wind parks form the largest onshore wind farm in Europe.
