The combustion laboratory

Every year, many people are killed and injured in fires, and material damage incurred is considerable. An important factor in the prevention of fire damage is fire-resistant, fire-retardant cables that produce little smoke.

Because a fire is always unpredictable, a variety of tests have been developed to simulate real situations.

Our modern combustion laboratory acts as a basis for our research and product development – helping us to make society safer.

Combustion test methods

Bunched-cables combustion test on grating, IEC 60332-3
Self-extinguishing test for single cables and wires, IEC 60332-1

Measurement of smoke density, IEC 61034
Combustion test on a powered cable, IEC 60331
